Quick Start Guide

Get started with Labelr in just 4 simple steps

Set Label Size

When you start a new project, set your width and height in mm or inches to match your physical label stock.

Add Design Elements

Use the toolbar on the left to drag text, shapes, or barcodes onto the canvas.

Adjust Properties

Click on any element to select it. Use the Properties Panel on the right to change fonts, sizes, borders, or barcode data.

Save & Print

Click the "Save" icon to store your work locally. Click "Print" to open the printing dialog and connect to your printer.

Interface Overview

Labelr's interface is divided into three main areas

Toolbar (Left)

Access all design tools: Text, Barcode, Shape, Image, Line.

Canvas (Center)

Your workspace. What you see is what you get (WYSIWYG).

Properties (Right)

Context-sensitive settings for the selected object.

Tools & Elements

Powerful design tools at your fingertips

Text

Supports Google Fonts. Toggle between Single Line (for names/titles) and Multi-line (for addresses/descriptions). Also supports Path Text for curved text (Circle, Wave) with adjustable offsets.

Barcodes

We support over 13 barcode formats:

Retail

EAN-13, EAN-8, EAN-5, EAN-2, UPC-A, UPC-E

Logistics

Code128, Code39, Code93, Codabar, ITF, ITF-14, MSI

2D Codes

QR Code (4 error levels), Data Matrix, PDF417

Shapes

Basic shapes (Rectangle, Circle, Line) and custom geometry (Star, Cross, Heart). Supports customizable strokes, fills, and corner radius.

Images

Import images (PNG, JPG, BMP). Built-in image processor supports:

  • Cropping & Flipping
  • Brightness/Contrast
  • Dithering (Floyd-Steinberg, etc.)
  • Thresholding (Monochrome)

Printing

Direct connection to printers via Operating System Interface or Driver

Supported Protocols

  • TSPL - TSC Printer Language
  • ZPL - Zebra Programming Language
  • EPL - Eltron Programming Language
  • CPCL - Comtec Printer Control Language

Print Settings

  • DPI: 203, 300, or 600
  • Density: Print head heat adjustment
  • Speed: 2-6 inch/s
  • Offset: X/Y axis fine-tuning
